Experience making a card case using the skin of a boar caught in Fujino

|Sagamihara City
This is a workshop where you can make a business card holder using the skin of a wild boar caught in Fujino. First, I would like to talk about our relationship with wild boars and deer in our lives here at Fujino. In the leather industry, which is usually associated with the livestock industry, wild animal hides are not normally distributed in the market. The use of wild boar and deer skins has been increasing in Japan over the past few years due to conditions such as increased damage caused by animals to crops and the emergence of tanneries that accept the processing of animal hides. The leather used in this experience is tanned from the hides of wild boars harvested through extermination and hunting in the Fujino area of Sagamihara City. Since you only need to cut the leather and attach the metal fittings, you will be using an easy-to-make kit, so even beginners of leatherwork can tackle it.
